Set your users notifications

Configure Email Notifications

The email notification system allows you to individually enable or disable each type of transactional email sent to your users. This is especially useful if you use external email marketing platforms (such as Braze, Customer.io, or others) and want to avoid your users receiving duplicate notifications.

In this article we will explain how to manage which emails Publica.la sends and which ones you prefer to handle from your own platform.

Which emails can you set?

You can enable or disable the following types of notifications:

Email Type

When it is sent

Welcome Email

When a new user registers

Publication Purchase Receipt

After purchasing content

Subscription Receipt

After subscribing to a plan

Gift Purchase Receipt

After purchasing or receiving a gift

Shipping Status Updates

When the shipping status changes

Password reset and login token emails are not configurable and will always be sent, as they are essential for the platform's operation and security.

How to access the configuration

  1. Go to Control Panel > Settings > Notifications

There you will find the notifications organized into three categories:

1. Authentication

  • Welcome Email: sent automatically when a user completes their registration.

2. Purchases

  • Publication Purchase Receipt: sent after purchasing individual content.
  • Subscription Receipt: sent after subscribing to a recurring or prepaid plan.
  • Gift Purchase Receipt: sent after purchasing or receiving a publication as a gift.

3. Shipping

  • Shipping Status Updates: sent when there are changes to the status of a physical shipment.

How to enable or disable a notification

Each notification has a toggle switch that you can enable or disable independently.

Changes are not applied immediately. Remember to click Save for the configuration to be stored. Changes only affect future emails, not those already sent.

Admin Notifications

In addition to user-facing notifications, this same section includes options to receive alerts about sales and events in your store.

Webhooks

If you have the webhook integration enabled, you can configure:

  • Notification URL: endpoint where you will receive sales and event notifications.
  • Webhook Key: authentication key to validate incoming notifications. You can regenerate it at any time.
  • Test Button: send a test notification to verify that the integration is working correctly.

Notification Email (admin)

  • Notification Email: administrator email address where you will receive sales alerts.
  • Test Button: send a test email to confirm that the address is correct.
