Vito, the AI assistant

Vito is an artificial intelligence assistant integrated as a chat panel inside the reader. It is designed to help you study and better understand content: you can ask it for summaries, generate self-assessment questions, and ask free-form questions about what you are reading.

Vito is an optional feature that must be enabled by the store. If you don't see it in your reader, it may not be available on your plan. It currently works only with publications in PDF format and requires an internet connection.

1. How to access Vito

Vito appears as an integrated chat panel next to the reader. You can open it from the Vito icon in the reader's top bar.

2. Summarize pages

Vito can generate summaries of the pages you are reading:

  • Summarize current page (⚡️): generates a summary of the page you are on with a single click.
  • Custom summary: choose a page range (up to 10) and the format — paragraph or key points list.

  • Expand summary: after receiving a standard summary, you can ask Vito for a more detailed version.

3. Self-assessment

Vito can generate multiple-choice questions based on the content you read to test your comprehension.

1. Select Self-assessment (🧠) in the Vito panel.

2. Choose the page range (up to 10) and the number of questions: 3 or 5.

Each question presents 3 options (A, B, C) with a single correct answer.

3. Answer each question. When finished, Vito shows you your score and an explanation of the correct answers.

Questions are generated exclusively from the text of the selected pages.

4. Ask questions

You can write any question in natural language about the content you are reading (💬). Vito responds based on the pages near your current position: approximately 4 pages before and 8 pages after where you are (up to 20 pages of context in total).

Vito only responds about the content of the publication. It does not access external information or other publications.

5. Assistant language

Vito is available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. The language automatically adjusts to your device's language, but you can change it at any time by clicking the globe icon 🌐 in the panel header.

The selected language is remembered for the entire reading session and saved locally for future sessions.

6. Privacy and data

  • Only the page range or fragment you consulted is sent to the AI service — never the complete content of the publication.
  • Interactions are processed in real time and are not stored beyond the active session.
  • Publication content is not used to train AI models. The AI provider (OpenAI) is explicitly configured not to retain or use any data from the platform for training purposes.
