In this documentation, we will show you how to build a menu in which you can place links to the taxonomies you have configured or to external links to the platform, such as your website or other resources that you have hosted in a URL.
🛠️ We will create the following menu:
LET'S GO STEP BY STEP:
1. Go to Control Panel > Settings > Storefront ---> Menu.
2. To start click on Add item. A default menu group will be displayed:
3. We will define if we want to create a Group or a URL.
GROUP: This allows us to add subitems within this one.
If the group created is Publisher and the subitems Ebooks publisher 1 and Ebooks publisher 2, it will look like this:
To create it we must choose "Group", give it a name, and add subitems.
When clicking on Add subitem we will see subitems where we must place a name and a URL:
To create the internal URLs, that is to say to collections, editorials or the taxonomies that you created when uploading or editing your publications, we must do it in the following way:
We show you an example URL to filter the category Publisher:
publisher :
Where:
- https://store.publica.la is the URL of your store
- /library/filter? filters the taxonomy given after the question mark
- publisher=Ebooks1 inside publisher, I want to show for example Ebooks1

Once you have created the group(s) with the name(s) and URL(s):
Click on Save Menu.
URL: This option allows us to add a URL that can be internal or external. This tool is very useful if you want to add a link to your website or other resources.
For example, if you want to direct your users to an external site when adding an item you must choose URL:
Enter the name and URL.
4. Remember to click Save menu with each change made. 📌
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- You will be able to drag both items and subitems to sort them in the menu. You must click on the button and holding it down drag that line to the desired final position.
