This tool will allow you to know precise data about the activities and preferences of your users directly from the server, without the need for a Pixel, and protecting the privacy of your users.

⚠️ Requirements to implement it.

  • Have a public store . You will be able to see in this instructive how to create your own store.

  • Have a Facebook Business account set up .

  • Have the tracking pixel activated and configured in the account/business where you want to activate the API.

  • Have the Tracking Pixel implemented on the website or app .

👉 Steps to set it up.

From facebook : You can visit the Facebook Help Center if you require more detailed information.

  1. Login to the Facebook Business Events Manager.

  2. Click on Data Sources:

    1. If you already have a pixel configured, you will need to complete the configuration for the conversions API. Click on your Pixel and then click on the Manage integrations button . A window will open in which your two integrations will appear, the Pixel and the Conversions API , click on Complete configuration and then on Configure events .

    2. If you do not have a pixel configured, you must create it before continuing with the instructions. Here we show you how to do it. You will need to choose to connect your website by selecting the 'Conversion API and Meta Pixel' option:

To connect website activity using the Conversions API:

      • Select the Set up manually option , and then click Next.

      • In the Summary section , click Continue.

      • Select events : Click on Additional events , the view of the events that you can send through the conversions API will be displayed. There select the following events: 1 . Search, 2 . See content, 3 .Complete registration, 4 .Start payment, 5 .Buy and 6 .Subscribe. Then click Continue.

      • Select event details : Here we tell Facebook what data will be sent for each user action. We will see Event Details Parameters and Client Information Parameters , for which we must check the following for each event.

Remember not to modify the ones selected by default and only add the following, each point will include the Event Details Parameters* and Customer Information Parameters*

        • 1. Search.

        • 2. View content.

        • 3. Complete registration.

        • 4. Start payment.

        • 5. Buy.

        • 6. Subscribe.

        *Event details parameters: Search string.

*Client Information Parameters: Client IP Address - Do Not Hash, Name, Client User Agent - Do Not Hash, Email.

      • Check that the data entered is correct 🔎, then click Continue.

      • Choose whether to implement the API yourself, or email the instructions to the developer who will assist you. Click " Continue Pixel Settings ."

  3. From the main panel (First image of step 2 ), click on Manage integrations and then on Complete setup > Start sending events from the server .

  4. Then click on the Generate Access Token button. Copy and save that token.

From your store in publica.la

  1. Enter the store with your administrator user and go to Control Panel> Settings> Marketing.

  2. In the Your tracking codes - Facebook section, enter the Facebook Pixel ID and the Facebook Conversions API Token

  3. Then click Save .

We are almost done!

😮 How to try it?

If you need to carry out a test, you must generate a code that is sent in each request from the Events Manager , Facebook. Click the Start Test Events button:

This will open a new tab in the events panel, where you will find the test code. Eg TEST13991.

From your store, to carry out integration tests you must click on "Activate test mode" and write the Facebook Conversions API Test Code .

⚠️Note that this code is not fixed* and don't forget to turn off the test mode once you have done all the operations.

*The Facebook Conversions API Test Code changes regularly, this means that you will probably have to update the code in case the tests are over a few days.

That's all! We hope this tutorial has been easy for you. If you have questions, write to us at [email protected] .
