Update a publication file

In this article we will show you how to update your publication files.

This will be useful for uploading a new edition of an ebook or updating files with errors.

Please note that:

Files can only be updated individually
You can only update files of the same type, i.e. you can replace PDF with PDF, Epub with Epub and Mp3 with Mp3.

Go to Control Panel > Content > My Inventory or Control Panel > Issues.
Find the publication you want to update and click on the drop-down menu. Select the option "Update PDF/EPUB/MP3 file"

Drag the file to the pink box or click it to browse for it in your computer.
Then click on Update file.

⚠️ Be aware that your users' notes and highlights may be lost or affected, as well as readership metrics.

Done! Once the upload has finished processing, your file will be updated.

Update the cover: click on the image or the "Update cover" button and choose browse your computer for the desired image. Make sure that it meets the following requirements:
Accepted formats: jpg, jpeg, png
Minimum size: "256x256px"
Up to 20MB
Modify:
Name(title)
Genre (BISAC)
Descrption
Identifiers (ISBN or ID, Collections, Keywords)
Price
General information (Release date, language, Audience, Authors, Categories, Countries, Editions, Narrators, Publishers, Publishing Groups)
Add private material
Allow a preview or not
Geographical Restrictions

Insert a carousel with images in your store to invite your users to subscribe to your content in a more attractive way, share promotions or information.

The space to add Widgets allows you to insert HTML code. You can add a banner, text, an image, a video, a link to an external site, advertising, etc.

We will show you how to add a Carousel with images like this one:

There are two steps to follow:

1 - Insert the HTML code.
2 - Add the CSS code to control its size and positioning.

Step 1

You can create your own HTML code or use Bootstrap templates.

To add a banner like the example shown above, you can use the HTML code we share below, changing the spaces in the URL of each image for the ones you want to upload and appear in this carousel:

The bold "image_url" fields must be replaced by the URLs where your images are hosted.

In case you don't have them in any hosting service, you can use Imgbb which is free

The accepted formats are PDF, EPUB & MP3 (Audiobook, Podcasts, etc.)
The file cannot exceed 320 MB

1. Go to Control Panel > Publications or Control Panel > Content > My inventory:

3. Select the format of the product you are about to publish (eBook or Audiobook). Upload your PDF, Epub or MP3 file by dragging it into the box or click on it and choose the file from your computer.

If you are uploading a PDF file, here are some recommendations to provide the best experience for readers.

Recommendation for EPUB files:

To avoid file decoding errors in the reader, it is recommended that the fonts are not encrypted.
We suggest using Epubs version 3.

4. Complete the product information with the data you want your publication to have and its metadata. The only required field will be the title.
